How To Pin Folders To Taskbar Windows 8

This is what you lot need to practice in order to pin a folder to the Taskbar, and it will work in both Windows seven and Windows 8:

Create a shortcut to your chosen binder on the Desktop. Correct-click or long-press on the empty space on the Desktop, so select New and then Shortcut.

Click or tap Browse and get to the folder you want, select information technology and click or tap OK.
This will put the total path of the folder into the Location field, in the Create Shortcut magician. -
Before you click Next, yous will need to insert the word

In windows eight.one, if you lot already have explorer/a binder pinned to your taskbar (I believe ane is pinned by default), you can only drag and drop a binder onto the already pinned icon to add it to the list of sub-pinned folders.

This pick worked for me (I'm using Windows 8.ane) and is simpler, so I'd vote it should be the preferred reply. And just to clarify, when you drag a binder over your existing File Explorer icon in the taskbar, the text under the dragged icon too changes to Pin to File Explorer, which is a nice trivial visual confirmation.

This doesn't piece of work in Windows 8. There'south no Browse in at that place.
Correct-clicking on the Binder in question produces a copy of said folder on the desktop, that's all.
I did accept this folder pinned to the taskbar only for some unfathomable reason it's poof gone & am trying to become it back

I have found a mode to PIN. All y'all take to do is to open a folder in the Desktop,. which then appears in the taskbar. Correct-click said binder and pin it. And voila

Virtually easiest way-
- Create a shortcut on desktop. (Right-click and select Send to desktop)
2. Right click on the Desktop Shortcut and select Pivot to Kickoff.
- Finally right click on the shortcut in Start Bill of fare and select Pin to Taskbar.
Washed!
P.S. You lot can delete the shortcuts in Kickoff Carte and on Desktop.

I created a shortcut to the folder location then, click & drag the shortcut to the chore bar. And then, click & elevate the icon to the location on the task bar where y'all would like the icon to be positioned.

Though this doesn't seem to work if the shortcut was given a custom icon prior to pinning. Information technology will work if you don't practice this but and then in one case pinned although you tin change the icon using the shortcuts backdrop it wont update on the taskbar. So default but icons it seems.
